Eaton Canyon Park

Who would have thought that LA would have something this beautiful this close to the city? It is Pasadena, but in my mind it call counts as LA. The sun was down when we got there and we had a very light drizzle which kept things chill but we fortunately had no rain. We took a leisurely 4 hours for this 4 mile hike and the change of scenery does wonders to one. I would do this again many a time.

This is how you get there.
EATON CANYON PARK/EATON CANYON NATURE CENTER
Angeles National Forest near Pasadena
This area can be combined with the Eaton Canyon Falls trail for a longer hike (approx. 4 miles roundtrip).  Park in the lot at Eaton Canyon Park and start your hike from there.  From the parking lot, head straight up the canyon.  After a mile, you will reach a bridge.  Pass under the bridge and keep going to the falls.  During summer months, the canyon hike is virtually dry until you reach the bridge.  During the rainy season, the stream runs all the way to Eaton Canyon Park.
