Slacktivism
There are no magic answers, no miraculous methods to overcome the problems we face, just the familiar ones: honest search for understanding, education, organization, action that raises the cost of state violence for its perpetrators or that lays the basis for institutional change -- and the kind of commitment that will persist despite the temptations of disillusionment, despite many failures and only limited successes, inspired by the hope of a brighter future."... Sarah Palin

As much as it is a cynical, calculated move by Mccain to choose her, I think it is also the fact that Mccain does not feel remotely threatened by her, another major reason she was chosen. Look at all the comments being made about her learning at the foot of the master. Not something one would have said about Lieberman or Romney. And yeah looking at the moralists making pre-marital sex and teen pregnancy something to be celebrated is quite amusing.

And Lieberman, he reminds me of Eric Cartman - Eric Cartman always throws a hissy fit - "Screw you guys, I am going home" when he does not get his way or percieves that he has been disrespected. I really do hope he was expecting to be get the vice president spot and was disappointed. What a disgrace!

Here's the insightul Roy Edroso's take on the whole Bristol Palin thing.

First, it offers normal people a piquant reminder that fundamentalist Christians, powerful as they may be in the GOP, are deeply strange. We've heard endlessly from these folks that America is a moral basket case "slouching toward Gomorrah," and that liberalism is the cause. Now the Jesus people are celebrating a pre-maritally pregnant girl and her upcoming shotgun wedding. Rod Dreher, who called a bride a slut for showing a tattoo at her wedding, now rejoices that Bristol Palin will be showing a baby bump at hers. Americans may like God but they retain a healthy skepticism about the godly, and this case shows why.
